Hello,
I’m Tim Hallam, a nature and landscape photographer based in Southern Oregon. I was born and raised in Mount Shasta, California, where my connection to the outdoors began early and has continued to shape both my life and photography. My early experiences exploring forests, rivers, and mountains sparked a lifelong passion for capturing the natural world through photography.
At the age of 15, I purchased my first professional camera and quickly became immersed in the art of image-making. That same year, I was fortunate to be mentored by a professional photographer who introduced me to the complete photographic process—from capture to print.
Following high school, I studied both photography and metalworking at a local community college, eventually working for nearly a decade in the metal fabrication industry as a certified welder and fabricator. Throughout that time, I remained committed to photographing the natural world whenever possible. In 2016, I made the decision to pursue photography full-time, and it has been a rewarding journey—with many peaks and valleys—ever since.
I regularly exhibit my work at the Lithia Artisans Market in Ashland, Oregon—an outdoor art festival held each weekend from mid-March through October—as well as at Art on First, a gallery in Ashland, and at art festivals across Oregon and the greater Pacific Northwest. In addition to my photographic work, I teach workshops focused on landscapes, seascapes, and wide-field astrophotography, guiding others through the creative and technical aspects of planning, capturing, and processing compelling images.
Thank you for visiting. I invite you to browse my galleries and reach out with any questions or inquiries.
