Join us on the beautiful and rugged Southern Oregon Coast for a 3-day seascape and autumn waterfalls photography workshop!
Learn how to capture and process seascape and waterfall images from start to finish during this immersive photography experience.
What’s Included:
Guided treks to beautiful access points along the Southern Oregon Coast, including both iconic and lesser-known locations as well as coastal range waterfalls.
In-the-field individual instruction and guidance on:
Composition
Camera settings
Use of polarizing and neutral density filters
Midday post-processing lessons using Adobe Lightroom/Camera Raw and Photoshop, featuring simple but effective techniques to get the most from your seascape and waterfall images.
A demonstration on how to clean your camera equipment after saltwater exposure.

Enjoy shooting alongside a small group of like-minded photographers
All experience levels are welcome.
While a basic understanding of your camera outside of automatic mode is helpful, it’s not required—I can teach you as we go!
Please Note:
This is not a smartphone photography course.
An interchangeable lens camera (or a high-quality fixed-lens camera) and a tripod are required.
Recommended gear includes:
Wide-angle to medium telephoto lenses (there may also be some telephoto opportunities)

Exact locations will vary based on weather and conditions, but our focus areas include:
Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor
Shore Acres State Park
Waterfalls near Mapleton, Oregon
Physical Requirements & Safety:
Hiking coastal trails—often near cliff edges—can be inherently dangerous. I do everything possible to limit risk, but some hazards are unavoidable.
To participate safely, you should be able to:
Hike up to 2 miles per day on uneven, steep terrain
Carry your camera gear, water, and essentials during outings
You are responsible for knowing your own limits and must inform me of any health or mobility concerns prior to the workshop.
As a licensed Oregon Outfitter Guide (#3205), I am CPR and First Aid certified and carry a first aid kit at all times.
Your safety is my top priority.

Once your spot is reserved, I’ll contact you with:

A general itinerary (we’ll remain flexible to take advantage of the best conditions)
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel or withdraw:
Your $199 deposit is non-refundable
A full refund of the remaining tuition will be issued if:
You cancel more than two weeks before the workshop start date, or
Your spot can be filled by someone from the waitlist or a referral
Equipment Damage & Liability:
Oregon’s coastal environment can be rough on gear. While I take all reasonable precautions, damage or loss can still happen.
Equipment insurance is highly recommended.
By attending this workshop, you agree to hold Tim Hallam of Tim Hallam Photography and Steven Michael of Steven Michael Photography harmless for any personal injury or equipment loss incurred during or in association with the workshop.
This is a self-led travel experience. You are ultimately responsible for your own safety and gear.

Limited to 7 participants to ensure a quality instructor-to-student ratio and a more personal experience.
Price & Payment Info:
Total Cost: $1,099
Deposit: $199 (non-refundable; secures your spot)
Remaining Balance: $900 due two weeks before the workshop
Once registered, you’ll receive an invoice for both the deposit and the tuition balance.
